With the coronavirus continuing to spread throughout the world, Parlevel Systems would like to advise you on best practices for keeping your Micro Markets sanitized and running properly. Keeping your micro market clean will maintain the health of your accounts, and show your location you truly care about their well-being.

Touchscreens and fingerprint readers are the two most commonly touched components of your micro market kiosk, so we’ll focus on these components in particular.

Keep in mind that these components are also highly sensitive, so it’s necessary to clean them correctly to ensure your devices function as intended.

Let’s get started!

Cleaning the Fingerprint Reader

You can use ethanol or isopropanol in concentrations of less than 50%, or you can use Hydrogen Peroxide in 3% solution in water.

DO NOT use: Bleach, Isopropyl Alcohol with a concentration of greater than 50%, or Ethyl Alcohol/Ethanol with a concentration of greater than 50%.

We’ll use Hydrogen Peroxide on this kiosk here.

First apply the liquid to a soft lint-free material, like the Parlevel cloth included in your original micro market packaging, and gently dab the fingerprint reader window.

Make sure not to pour any liquid directly on the reader window, submerge the scanner in liquid, or rub the window with an abrasive material, including paper.

There you go! Our fingerprint reader is now properly sanitized.

Disinfecting the Touchscreen

For the touchscreen, you can use Isopropyl Alcohol with a concentration of less than 70%, or Clorox/Lysol/Purell Disinfecting or Germicidal Wipes.

Before cleaning the touchscreen we’ll make sure to disconnect the power cable.

For cleaning this kiosk, we’ll use Clorox wipes. If you choose to use a liquid, make sure you use it with only non-abrasive cleaning cloths, like the Parlevel cloth included in your original micro market packaging, to avoid scratching the touchscreens.

With our cloth, we’ll gently wipe the surface of the touchscreen. Make sure not to get too much liquid on any part of the screen, and to let the screen dry completely before moving on.

Okay, our micro market touchscreen is disinfected!

If you choose to clean the acrylic casing of the micro market kiosk, soap and warm water will get the job done. Again, make sure to use a non-abrasive cloth that is damp, not totally wet. Give it a gentle wipedown, and you should be good to go.

Extra Steps

Provide hand sanitizer for your customers to use before and after touching the kiosk. If you are servicing the kiosk, make sure to use hand sanitizer yourself before and after service.

We highly recommend enabling and encouraging the use of the koin mobile app at your micro market locations. koin is an app, available for both Apple and Android devices, that will let your customers purchase from your market without physically touching the kiosk. If you need instructions on activating your kiosk, reach out to Parlevel support. We even have a use-guide you can print out to help your location effectively use koin.

Together, we can take the proper steps to keep your micro market clean and your customers healthy and satisfied. If you have any questions, please reach out to us! As always, thank you for choosing Parlevel!
